María del Pilar Agudelo M. is a Colombian artist and entrepreneur based in Cali, Colombia. Her work includes drawing, printmaking, assemblage, and textiles.
She is the founder of Calathea, an artisanal ice cream business established in 2009. Over the past 17 years, she has developed the business while creating employment opportunities for women, many of whom are heads of household, alongside maintaining her artistic practice.
María del Pilar first studied Culinary Arts at The French Culinary Institute in New York. After years of building her business, she returned to school to pursue a Fine Arts degree. She graduated from Pratt Institute in 2024 with an A.A.S. in Painting and Drawing, a B.F.A. in Printmaking, and a minor in Art History, where she graduated with Highest Honors and received two scholarships, including an International Merit Scholarship.
